Gurukula Botanical Sanctuary (GBS), Wayanad

Wolfgang the founder of GBS came to India and was entrusted by his guru to look after a small piece of land. While living on that land he noticed that the native plant species were disappearing from the forest in front of his eyes. Moved and pained by this, he started to protect them, one plant at a time. He was not a botanist or an ecologist, just one person with two hands.

Today, the same land is bursting with flaura beyond one's imagination. GBS is celebrated as one of the largest biodiversity hotspots in the world.

There is something sacred when you stand amidst those plants on that land that can't quite be captured in words or a few images. Wolfgang listened and learned from the plants and being there, inspires many others to do the same.
